Several words about myself

My name is Tonia and I like to knit, embroider and sew. I use all knowlage that I have to crate new things. I found my inspiration in projects done by other people and try to improve them or make them more personal.

Big or small project?

Which projects do you like? Big or small? I believe I should tell you, what I mean under small and big projects. Big project for me is a project that need a lot of time and you work the same pattern over and over. It can be something like garments, blankets and other. Small projects can be doilies, toys, scarfs and so on. I prefer small projects. The main reason that I change my hobbies realy fast. I can start to knit something and in several days I want to embroider. So if I have big project, I became too bored and want to start something new. That's why you will not find big projects in my Instagram feed, but I would like to tell you, that I have just started something, I hope I will be able to finish it and you will like it. How I learned to knit and crochet...

Today I want to share with you the story, why I like to knit and to crochet and how I learned to work with yarn. When I was five or six years old, my mom taught me and my sister, how to knit. It was interesting, but I was able to knit Knit and Purl stitches, several patterns and that's all. Real knowlages I received when I was 11 years old, I think. One woman came to the school, where I studied, and gave free classes of crochet and knitting to all who wants. My mom was happy with this opportunity. Lesson were three hours long and twice per week. We attended these classes for four years. But, only now, in eight years, I understand how important and useful they were. We learned there how to knit basic and advanced patterns, how to knit hat, socks and gloves, how to crochet doilies and even how to create a little sweater, that I can wear on my teddy bear.
